Todu Guam Foundation Health and Wellness Center has been approval as a National Health Service Corps site, a designation that will allow the private clinic to attract and retain healthcare professionals through the NHSC’s loan repayment and scholarship programs.
The programs are designed to support clinicians who choose to work in areas with limited access to healthcare, helping to address the critical shortage of healthcare providers in these communities.
“We are thrilled to receive this designation from the National Health Service Corps,” said former Sen. Dennis Rodriguez Jr., founder and executive director of Todu Guam.
“This recognition is a testament to our ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive healthcare services to those who need it most. With the support of the NHSC, we can continue to expand our team of skilled healthcare professionals and enhance the quality of care we offer to our people," he added.
The foundation noted that its NHSC site designation "comes at a critical time, as the demand for healthcare services continues to rise, particularly in underserved communities. "
Administered by the Health Resource & Service Administration under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the NHSC seeks to build healthy communities by supporting qualified healthcare providers dedicated to working in areas of greatest need.
By becoming an NHSC site, Todu Guam joins a network of healthcare facilities committed to reducing health disparities and improving access to care for underserved populations.
TGF Health and Wellness Center offers a wide range of services, including family medicine, general pediatric care, women’s health, and behavioral health treatment using transcranial magnetic stimulation, tailored to meet the needs of our diverse patient population.
"Our team of compassionate healthcare providers is dedicated to delivering patient-centered care that addresses both the physical and mental health needs of our patients," Todu Guam said in a press release.
"This designation will enable TGF to better serve our patients and community by attracting healthcare providers who are passionate about making a difference," it added.
The foundation said the recognition will not only enhance its capacity to provide care, but will also "foster professional development opportunities" for its staff and "help maintain a workforce that is well-equipped to address the evolving healthcare needs of our community."
“We look forward to the positive impact this will have on our organization and to the entire island community,” added Rodriguez. “Our goal has always been to provide accessible, high-quality healthcare, and this designation will significantly enhance our ability to achieve that goal.”
