Pacific Rim has received the National Safety Pinnacle award for its exceptional long-term safety performance and ongoing commitment to a “zero accident”

safety culture.

The award was conferred by the Associated Builders and Contractors on Feb. 26.

“Target Zero, Safety Hero encapsulates our core values, upheld by everyone from leadership to our craft workforce. Ensuring our team's safety is not just a priority; it's fundamental to our culture," said Keith Stewart, the company's president and CEO.

"We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our subcontractor partners and every member of Pacific Rim for their exceptional contributions. Every individual and group effort truly matters," he added.

Pacific Rim was the only Guam contractor to receive the ABC's highest safety award nationwide in the past decade, if not first.

ABC has three levels of safety achievement: Pinnacle, Excellence and Merit awards. While Excellence and Merit awards represent exceptional and outstanding safety programs, respectively, which Pacific Rim has been awarded in the past year, Pinnacle Award recipients are considered world-class safety leaders.

The Pinnacle Award reflects exceptional long-term safety performance and

processes;  only recipients of the previous year’s Excellence Awards are eligible.

All three levels represent the “best of the best” in terms of health and safety in the construction industry.

“Pacific Rim exhibits an unrelenting commitment to job site safety, and that should be celebrated and honored,” said David Pugh, 2025 chair of the

 ABC National Board of Directors

“The leadership and employees at Pacific Rim make a choice every day to create a culture that refuses to compromise on safety, relentlessly ensuring every employee leaves the job site in the same or better condition every day," Pugh added.

He said among the safety winners are several ABC Top Performers, ranked by work hours.

The National Safety Excellence Awards are presented in three major North American Industry Classification System code categories: NAICS 236—Construction of Buildings; NAICS 237—Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction; and NAICS 238—Specialty Trade Contractors.
