Guam in COR 4 at noon; GovGuam employees report to work at 1 pm

(Joint Information Center) - Acting Gov. Josh Tenorio and Rear Admiral Brent De Vore will place Guam and the respective military bases in Condition of Readiness 4 at noon today. GovGuam will resume operations at 1 p.m.


Residents are still advised to be cautious when driving on roads as crews from Guam Power Authority, the Department of Public Works, and the Mayor’s Offices are continuing mitigation and assessment efforts.


The tropical storm warning for Guam has been canceled. As of 11 a.m. ChST, Tropical Storm Man-Yi is 110 miles West-SouthWest of Guam, moving Southwest at 18 mph with sustained winds at 50mph and expected to intensify through Thursday, possibly becoming a Typhoon North of Yap.


Guam still has an active high surf advisory and rip current statement in effect at 6 a.m. Thursday morning.


These emergency shelters will close at noon today in conjunction with the declaration of COR 4. All GDOE schools will return to normal operations tomorrow, November 14, 2024.


Catholic schools to resume classes on Thursday. With the island returning to COR4, the Archdiocese of Agaña announces that Catholic schools will resume their regular instructional schedules on Nov. 14.


UOG & GCC classes resume at 2 p.m.University of Guam and Guam Community College will resume classes at 2 p.m.


GRMC & GMH resume regular visiting hour and normal operations.

 • Jeju Air Flt # 7C3101 from Incheon scheduled to arrive 3:25 pm is delayed. New arrival time is 11:20pm

. • United Airlines Flt # 192 from Koror is canceled

 • United Airlines Flt #156 from Manila is canceled 


Departures:

 • Jeju Air Flt # 7C3102 scheduled to depart at 4:35pm is delayed. New departure time is 3:40 am on November 14, 2024

 • United Airlines Flt # UA151 from Kansai is cancelled.


United is offering customers options to rebook their flights at no additional cost this week to manage their travel around Tropical Storm Man-Yi.  Customers are also encouraged to check their flight status and make changes at United.com or by calling United customer service at 1-800-UNITED-1(1-800-864-8331).


Bank of Guam announces the reopening of its branches in Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands today. Bank of Guam branches in Saipan and Tinian will reopen at 9 a.m., while all branches in Guam and Rota, along with our Hagåtña headquarters and Familia Contact Center, will resume operations at noon.


The Missile Defense Agency meeting for public comment on the Environmental Impact Study for the Guam Defense System is canceled for today only.


The meetings on Thursday and Friday at the Hilton Guam Resort and Dededo Senior Center respectively, remain on schedule at this time.
