CNMI's new Covid cases: 154

Saipan-- The CNMI reported 154 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the CNMI total to 5,062 cases since March 26, 2020. The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.

Of the 154 cases identified on Jan. 31, 2022: 60 identified via contact tracing; 74 via community testing; 19 via travel testing; and two were identified on Rota.

As of Feb. 1, 2022, there were 11 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19: five unvaccinated, five vaccinated, one partially vaccinated

The CHCC Communicable Disease Investigation/Inspection team has already initiated contact tracing for the most immediate contacts of the newly confirmed cases, and this effort will continue until all probable cases are identified and tested.
