Pacific Island Times Staff

The false summer imposed by Typhoon Mangkhut is over for students in Guam's public schools.

The Guam Department of Education has announced that classes will resume at all 41 GDOE schools on Monday.

The additional schools opening Monday are Harry S. Truman Elementary School, Inarajan Elementary, Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary, Marcial Sablan Elementary, Merizo Martyrs’ Memorial Elementary, Price Elementary, Inarajan Middle School, L.P. Untalan Middle School, Oceanview Middle, J.P. Torres Success Academy and Okkodo High School.

“Thank you to our GDOE school administrators and staff, food service staff and contractors, Facilities and Maintenance Division, Guam Waterworks Authority and Guam Power Authority for working tirelessly to get our schools open as quickly as possible,” GDOE Superintendent Jon Fernandez said. “Thanks to their hard work

Superintendant Jon Fernandez

over the weekend, we are able to welcome back all 30,000 students and staff on Monday morning.”

Regular busing services will be provided to all schools. For more information, please contact your child’s school directly.
