The Guam Chamber of Commerce will hold its 14th Annual Small Business Expo and Outreach on Aug. 30 at the Grand Ballroom, Hyatt Regency Guam from 3 to 7 p.m.
Small business owners, managers, and companies interested in making connections with industry specific professionals and acquiring strategic partners are encouraged to attend this annual event. The tabletop expo will feature over 50 companies and organizations from various industries in the private sector plus local and federal government offices that provide support and resources for small businesses. There is no fee to attend the Expo.
There will be three pre-Expo seminars featuring industry experts in their respective fields:
Session 1 will feature off island presenter, Amin Leiman, PMP, CPC, SDC, CISA, MSBA, MBA, who will speak on "Project and Program Management."
Session 2 will feature the topic "Acquisition Cycle and Department of Defense Contract Opportunities" presented by Dante Serneo, Contracting Officer, Supply and Non-FSC Division, NAVFAC Marianas and Norma Borja, Contracting Officer, Facilities Support Contracts Division.
Session 3 will feature another visiting presenter, Denise Oda, Business Programs Director, USDA Rural Development who will talk about "Grants and Loans Opportunities for Renewable Energy."
The seminar sessions are scheduled to take place from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Guam's Santa Rosa Room. Doors will open at 12:45 p.m. Participation fee is $20 for Chamber members and $40 for non-members. Seating is limited and RSVPs are required.
The Expo event features an after-hours mixer from 5:30 to 7 p.m. co-hosted by Chamber member companies.
Additionally, the Chamber will announce the recipient of the 2018 Small Business Excellence Award. The event is designed to bring business professionals together to connect face to face, experience hands-on demonstrations, and expand opportunities for relationship building.
