Father Adrian Cristobal, facing accusations of sexual abuse filed against him in April and May, has finally exhausted the patience of Archbishop Michael J. Byrnes, who has repeatedly ordered Father Adrian to return to Guam from the U.S. mainland.
Friday, August 15th was the final deadline for the return of the priest. As of Saturday, Aug. 16, the archbishop imposed sanctions on him, to include a ban on wearing clerical garb. Restrictions already imposed by Byrnes included barring Father Adrian from celebrating mass or hearing confessions.
In a news release, the diocese said the restrictions will remain in place until the priest obeys orders.
