PBS Guam to broadcast the Royal Wedding

Writer: AdminAdmin

PBS Guam KGTF Channel 12 (PBS Guam) announces the live broadcast of the royal wedding of Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle on Saturday, May 19 at 6 p.m. (Guam time.)

Meredith Vieira and British television presenter Matt Baker will host the live broadcast. This five-part series (PBS national only) is produced by BBC Studios, which highlights the history, ceremony and traditions shaping the royal wedding.

Experts, commentators and guests join Vieira and Baker, while BBC presenter, Anita Rani reports from Windsor.

The live broadcast of the much-anticipated royal nuptial at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle concludes the series with the live simulcast on PBS Guam KGTF Channel 12 and on the PBS Guam Youtube Channel, youtube.com/pbsguam.

“I think this is a celebration of diversity with Meghan Markle being half black. Historically, commoners did not have a chance to marry a royal. As Guamanians, we live in a diverse community, so this speaks to us in many ways,” said Kate Baltazar, general manager of PBS Guam. “This is a very unique opportunity for us and we get to witness this cultural inclusion because PBS Guam can bring it into [our] home.”
