CNMI men in skirts for a cause

Pacific Island Times Staff

According to CNMI Congressman Gregorio 'Kilili' Sablan, it has become a traditional way to oppose violence against men and women in the Commonwealth.

Every year for the past five years, Northern Marianas Superior Court Judge Kenneth Govendo and Sablan have worn Micronesian skirts and led the annual Men’s Walk Against Violence,

The event is sponsored by the Northern Marianas Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence and it's meant to raise awareness about the violence that affects many CNMI families, and to renew collective commitment to a safe and loving community.
