It's a beauty pageant with lots of back-to-the-earth and environmental motifs. The pageant focuses mainly on promoting environmental causes and winners are chosen equally on their physical attributes as well as their understanding and knowledge of the issues affecting the earth. The event, with plenty of glitz and stagecraft, was held at the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort and produced a Miss Guam Earth, who will spend the next year promoting environmental projects and publicizing related issues.
And the winner is: Miss Earth Guam 2017 - Emma Mae Sheedy
Ms. Sheedy also won second place in native costume, won most photogenic and was best in the evening gown category. Her major issue is illegal dumping. Sheedy wants to spend her reign promoting recycling and fighting the litter blighting the island.
Miss Air Guam 2017 - 1st runner-up - Jestyne Sablan
Miss Water Guam 2017 - 2nd runner-up - Jenna Deena Panuelo
Miss Fire Guam 2017 - 3rd runner-up - Julia Naputi Rivera
