7 of 525 samples test positive for Covid



Seven new cases of Covid-19 were identified out of 525 tests performed by the Department of Public Health and Social Services (DPHSS) on Sunday, May 9, and from tests run by other labs between Friday, May 7 to Sunday, May 9. Two cases reported recent travel history and were identified in quarantine. Two cases were identified through contact tracing.


To date, there have been a total of 8,043 officially reported cases of Covid-19 with 139 deaths, 90 cases in active isolation, and 7,814 not in active isolation. The CAR Score is 0.8.

Covid -19 community testing continues. No symptoms are needed to qualify for testing. Bring a photo ID. Testing for travel purposes will not be conducted at these community testing sites. Individuals seeking COVID-19 testing to travel off-island may contact the DPHSS Northern Region Community Health Center at 635-7525/6 to schedule an appointment. For the safety of the community and nurses, only four people per vehicle are allowed to be tested.
